Overlay refers to how much of the door lays over the cabinet’s face frame. Looking at the space between the doors and drawers is a quick way to identify the overlay style.

Standard Overlay | Full Overlay | Inset | Frameless

Standard Overlay

A half-inch overlay is a traditional look. The doors cover the face frame a half-inch on all sides.

Full Overlay

A designer’s choice for an upscale style. The doors cover the face frame with a quarter-inch showing.

Frameless

European modern and sleek. This construction method does not have any frame.

Inset

Classic and timeless. The doors sit flush within the frame leaving the entire face exposed. Beaded Inset adds an edge detail around the face frame.
